Gerry JOHANSSON in Munich

On display are works by Swedish photographer Gerry Johansson, taken in Germany, Sweden and America. Johansson says that he has made a series of works which, although they have something in common, originate from different places. It is also not necessarily a personal bond that will tempt him to photograph certain places, although certain biographical relations with Sweden, Germany and America are available. The black and white photographs form a visual encyclopedia of the urban and the rural. The photographs don’t criticize, but record what’s on view – and depending on the viewer, they can be translated into a cultural comment.
